Labels of a Child with Autism and the Rest of Us

We all have labels. People can rewind the “memory tapes” and have years worth of guilt.

Autism and Labels

If you allow your mind to, I bet you can recall moments of being:

  • critical
  • quick tempered
  • negative
  • selfish

We have all deserved these labels at times.

If you just said “No I HAVE NOT,” this may help.https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/ulterior-motives/201512

If I ever need a reminder of why we are incredibly blessed to be the parents of a daughter with an Intellectual Disability and Autism, I have come to a beautiful realization.

Camryn will never be viewed by all who know her as being critical, an instigator, negative, or selfish. She will never have an inflated feeling of self importance.

She will live a life of not wearing ANY of those labels.
