Before she was born, we dreamed about what she would be like.

In the hospital, we were in awe of her innocence.
In the hospital, we couldn’t believe that we were chosen to be her parents.

When she was little, we had a plan.
When she was little, we dreamed about her future.
When she was little, we talked about what college she would go to and what she would be when she grew up.
When she was little, we talked about her future husband.

After her diagnosis, we were lost.
After her diagnosis, we were angry.
After her diagnosis, we blamed.
After her diagnosis, we cried.
After her diagnosis, we were so jealous of other kids.

As we got better, we went into action mode.
As we got better, we stopped at nothing to find the best programs and therapies.
As we got better, our marriage became stronger.
As we got better, we couldn’t believe how blessed we were to be chosen to be her parents.

Now that she is older, we are in awe of her innocence.
Now that she is older, we wish we saw the world through her eyes, her perfect world.
Now that she is older, we dream about her future.
Now that she is older, we are amazed at how far she has come.
Now that she is older, she is just what we dreamed for.
